The Full Story
I am a traditionally trained artist whose work combines advanced digital technology with graphic design, painting, photography, and sculpture. Critics have referred to my style as "Digital Impressionism" because of my use of light and color, as well as my atmospheric sense of mood and rhythm. By using multi-layered painting and digital techniques, I aim to create a visual language that is rich in color and visually engaging.
In addition to my own work, I am a master printer and pre-press expert for several well-known contemporary artists, including Susan Kaprov, Barbara Segal, and Rafael Quirindongo. I have had the opportunity to produce editions that are represented in major museums worldwide. I received my BFA from the School of Visual Arts, where I studied with and later became colleagues with notable artists such as Hannah Wilke, Benny Andrews, Bill Keith, Richard Van Buren, Jennifer Bartlett, Louise Bourgeois, and currently Barbara Segal. My work has been exhibited in various venues, including the Malcolm X Center in New York, the "Harlem Renaissance" show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carter Burton Gallery, Covello Senior Center, and The Riverwind Gallery in Beacon, NY.
My artistic influences include Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, Gordan Parks, and several contemporary artists. I strive to blend tradition with innovation in my artistic journey.
